Nate Diaz is suing the promoters of his latest fight against Jorge Masvidal, Fanmio, for over $9 million due a breach of contract. Diaz claims that he was only paid a sum of $1 million for the bout when he claims that he was under contract to earn around $10 million per TMZ Sports.
Per the TMZ report, the promoter had claimed that he would not be able to pay Nathan Diaz due to the financial loss that will occur and that his wife will leave him as a result of this. This is despite the verbal and written agreements that promoter Solomon Engel had made with Nate Diaz which Diaz states that if he knew he was not going to get paid the $9 million extra, he would not have fought Jorge Masvidal less than two weeks prior to this lawsuit being filed.
Diaz defeated Masvidal via decision which was Diaz’s second professional boxing bout. The first of which he lost to Jake Paul in April 2023.
This is a very interesting development and we will cover any future updates on the matter.
